Saira and Zainab: Two kinds of noodles which were terribly tasty
Zuneera: Rolls...didnt manage to snag one but i heard they were damned tasty
Wardah: Brownies. Oh my gaaah! SO nummy!
Mahwish: Cake. ZOMG. So soft and spongy O.O
Ayesha: Chicken with veggies. Didnt manage to snag any fries D:
Sehrish N: Chicken cholei. *drools*
and finally, Mariams Chicken Steaks (Nummy!!!) with veggies. God those mashed potatoes! *dies*
Sir: Fish which got like killed as well.
It was fun :)
Recipe for Lemon Chicken:
Firstly, I marinated the chicken over night. For that I used 3 chicken breasts (skin removed and cut into long strips) and tossed in some salt, white pepper, soy sauce and a dash of grape vinegar (I love grape vinegar!)
Then in the morning! Took out some cornflour and seasoned it with oregano, salt and pepper (black) and then I rolled the chicken strips in the seasoned corn flour. Took a non-stick frying pan, poured in bout....2 tablespoons of oil and heated the oil. Also cut the chicken strips down into small pieces that would make em easier to eat. A dash of salt on the chicken strips if you feel like it.
Tossed the chicken into the pan and let em fry till they turned a light golden brown. At this point, tossed in some finely chopped onion (original recipe called for spring onions where do i get THAT in this season?), garlic (2 cloves), lemon zest and ginger.
On top of the chicken, squeeze half a lemon (a really juicy one) and pour in a glass of chicken stock. Let it simmer for like 5-6 minutes, atleast until the chicken got cooked through and the stock got reduced. Serve while hot :)
I got damned fine results after twisting the original recipe :D The original recipe can be found on BBC Food. Lemon Chicken by Sanjeev Bhaskar
I modified it a bit cause after going over the recipe i thought that if i follow it like *points to above recipe* there wouldnt be much of a taste and it'd be too bland. So thats why i marinated the chicken strips overnight.
The chicken was SO incredibly tender when it was hot! And it had a nice..sharp, salty, lemony taste. Just the way i like it :D
